#16 - Oh, cruel fate

Caitlin's Thoughts For The Day:
my oh me oh my. this week has a taken a downfall for the worst. however, being grounded does have its benefits I suppose. I've been doing some insane blog hopping and found some wonderful pictures, stories and generally; blogs. I do wish I had my phone though. and pot. and freedom. but I'll be taking a trip to Value Village today in hopes of finding a pair of beige pants, and hopefully a denim jacket or leather vest of some sort (I want to cover them with patches and studs). that is, if the rain dies down. otherwise I'll be hanging out with Josef, eating bacon, watching Monsters vs. Aliens (for the third time) and possibly rolling a blunt of apple&raspberry kush? sounds like a good Friday to me.

G'Day for now.

#15 - Rave On The Second Floor

As I feel a searing pain in regards to the end of Olympic glory, I also feel that it's a time for healing from all the school, end of freedom, guilt, procrastination, etc. etc. This is what I have devised.

1.) After the recent discovery of a tea shop, I can now visit frequently and enjoy various beverages in my teacup collection! I'm thinking...I'll soon be on a first-name-basis with the owners.
2.) Reading "The Interrogative Mood" by Padgett Powell is an endless exploration, therefore, I must finish it. Are you bothered by socks not matching up? Are you a circusgoer? Were you a thumb-sucker? Oh Padgett, you're the only one that understands me :D
3.) A little company from Mary Jane always perks one up!
4.) Tuuuunes.
5.) If all else fails...RAVE ON THE SECOND FLOOR!

#14 : Shape Of My Heart

Wasn't January a good month to listen and search around for some new artists? Well, I certainly think it was; and here is what I have to offer y'all! (Btw, my birthday is in TWO days YIPPEEEE!)

"Wagon Wheel"
Old Crow Medicine Show
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1gX1EP6mG-E
- The first and most likely, only country band that I have found and actually enjoyed. Their soft melodies accompanied with a cello and violin go hand in hand and make for an easy listen.

"You've Made Me So Very Happy"
Blood, Sweat and Tears
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cOnN18dTm0g
- Very jazzy. And extra snazzy! I'd say a mix between Frank Sinatra and Tom Jones (This goes out to all the ladies. ;D ).

"Breakfast Club"
Z-Trip feat. Murs and Supernatural
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gP4u4I96DVQ
- A story about every Saturday morning in 1999; told through 5 minutes of merry verses and beats.

"XR2"
M.I.A.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7eLqp3OHJH0
- A roller coaster of rhythms.

"One Better"
Les Claypool
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UqtAaYhhVYQ
- Two words : Bass God.

"Heart of Chambers"
Beach House
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DNQ97P0rQk8
- A lazy voice that reminds me of Feist and Cat Power. Very soft and delicate consisting of mostly keyboard and light drumming.

"Animal"
Miike Snow
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=niKT-kJfUz4
- If Anthony Caleb Followill had a child with the members of Pheonix; this would be it. (If you're looking for something more electro and with a heavier beat, check out the Punks Jump Up remix of this)

"Are You the One"
The Presets
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JT3eLB61zts
- Credit to Ka'nika for this one. Very dark sound with voices like the men of Shiney Toy Guns. Oh, and some excellent background dancing.

"There Is A Light That Never Goes Out"
The Smiths
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=INgXzChwipY
- I love these lyrics. "To die by your side, is such a heavenly way to die."

"Paradise By the Dashboard Light"
Meatloaf
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-tF4Im8Gexs
- I think this would make a good chastity musical.

"Paris Makes Me Feel Like Dancing"
Something A La Mode
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QUlJp7H-1Vo
- This song makes me feel like dancing. Very Justice-ie.

"Whistle"
Sporto Kantes
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X3lA-3Q_QUU
- Oh so very happy-go-lucky. Sort of reminds me of the Beatles.

"Harrowdown Hill"
Thom Yorke
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-UXk42ZY4o
- I really wouldn't know how to describe this song. Radiohead with a whooole lotta bass.

"Imitosis"
Andrew Bird
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hnXCzFnkxtY
- Tall, Dark and Mysterious.

"Sleepyhead"
Passion Pit
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4zherMkcXdo
- Can shouting be cute? I think so. (For those of you who watch television, this will be recognizable)

Enjoy!

#13 : Moi, Je Joue

Ewa's thoughts for the day:
Negative
1.) La Roux is having a concert that I CANNOT ATTEND (with tickets so cheap that even JESUS would not believe!) GAAAH! And Mark Knopfler is SOLD OUT! And Muse is insanely expensive!
2.) Getting exams marks back is just as horrendous as writing them.
Positive
1.) I have narrowed down my favorite perfumes to Miss Dior Cherie and Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue!
2.) I have over 600 new songs, courtesy of TINA! SMOOCHES! SHOWERS OF LOVE!
3.) I'm drawing Frank Sinatra for art! Forgive me, is there drool/jizz all over the page? Blow me down! There he is with Mia Farrow!
4.) With all the cheese in my fridge...as God as my witness, I will NEVER GO HUNGRY AGAIN!

In conclusion, today MUST have been a lovely day...there are more positive than negative thoughts!

So yes, my dear, I am happy. I shall sing.

#11 : My Name is Serendipity Finn

Here are some things that Ewa knows for sure:
1.) Exams certainly do SUCK THE LIFE OUT OF HUMAN BEINGS.
2.) I should be studying.
3.) Canada is an incredibly boring nation to learn about. Sorry.
4.) Praying to the forest was a good idea. The trees are in my favor.
5.) Lists seem to happen often here on Telegram to Serendipity.

Here are some things that Ewa wishes were clear:
1.) Sasquatch? What?
2.) Who gives a flying fuck about war? I won't be shooting anyone in the face, thank you.
3.) Why aren't there meds for procrastination?
4.) Why pedophiles exist. Gross-o.

Thank you, Mr. Wong, for creating this photo.
Breathe in the air, don't be afraid to care!
For anyone who is studying, I am mentally holding your hand. Over.

PS to Caitlin: definitely bald. The scalp would be a rad place to get a tattoo.

#10 : Skatesies

Caitlin's Thoughts for the Day:
  1. Best friend day with Josef. And possibly Ashli. I miss that black magic woman. Success.
  2. I really dislike exams. Actually, I hate them, with all the hate in my body.
  3. My dad's expresso machine is a GOD.
  4. This song has been stuck in my head for a while now.
  5. I need to invite some people to come to Sasquatch fest with me. Ewa, you're coming. No questions asked.
  6. BIRTHDAY IN TWO WEEKS, YEEEAH!
  7. Speaking of that; FINALLY getting an ipod after 6 months! (:
  8. I need a job, and I need to start saving money:
    $200ish for Sasquatch.
    $150 for 420.
    $30ish for SEA BITCH.
  9. I made an entire mural on Blandin's locker with tape the other day and they still haven't torn it down.. I wonder if I could make mooorreee... :3
  10. Would you rather : Be permanently bald, or hairy all over?

#9 : Polish Bitch. Russian Bitch. Sea Bitch.

Caitlin's Thoughts of the Day:

#8 : The quarter pounder will put pounds on YOU!

Caitlin's Thoughts for the Day:
1.) Holy hell. Very good weekend.
- New Black Leotard; Maroon Skirt; Turquoise Bag
- Almost have 'Rock&Roll McDonalds' memorized.
- Best friend party with Josef! Yeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhh! :)
2.) My birthday is in 24 days. New ipod+pipe here I come! But I still don't know how to celebrate me coming into the world. I'd like to go downtown if its not raining. Or maybe a gay bar? That would please me.
3.) Drama is weird. You're both weird. I don't really want to communicate with you for now; it makes me feel lame.
4.) Is Bon Jovi just not the sexiest man alive? Seriously; he's like a dinosaur and every woman on the planet still has a crush on him! I'd really like to see him in concert. If he goes on tour, I'm probably gonna be one of those crazy chicks fighting for tickets. Along with Emily and Kaylah.
5.) A thought fluttered across my mind a whileeeeee ago: What if there was techno opera? To my surprise, I found it. I've been really digging a lot of opera and concert music lately, especially the intense kind, it gets me so pumped up.

Songs for this week:
Bon Jovi - Livin' On a Prayer
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDK9QqIzhwk

Phantom of the Opera (Techno Version)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X3qHbAsuo1M

Toodaloo!

#7: Ewa's Vibrations

Ewa's thoughts for the day:

First off, blackcurrant tea is dee-lish! Also, I would like to applaud the human race for the creation of airplanes. I applaud you, I crown you with garlands, I kiss your feet. Congratulations. Now here are some rules that apply.
1.) "If you are ugly, please put a bag over your head or exit the aircraft." (Patrick & Nicole)
2.) "If you are having a seizure, please do not disturb the other passengers." (Patrick)
3.) If you are a baby, screaming results in a penalty of 50 lashes or 1000 death glares.
4.) Flight attendants must smile and serve the needy. That's what your job is FOR.
5.) If you are quite attractive, make a seat available next to you, please.

Have a lovely day, and listen to music! Fiddle-dee-dee.
Goodbye!

PS. The album "Sailing to Philadelphia" by Mark Knopfler is lovely. I am very keen.

#6 : Butch Dykes and Alligators

Caitlin's Thoughts/Playlist for the Day:
I've been doing some crazy web-browsing and have come across a looooot of good bands lately; and I thought I should share my discoveries with the world. If you have a keen interest in opening up your mind to some lovely melodies, I suggest you search up the following:

Electric Feel - MGMT (Justice Remix)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DJE4PTfFzP0

- If you thought these bands alone were crazy, wait until they merge.

Suzy - Caravan Palace
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j95HbhTl60k

- A french band that sings in English. Includes fast beats, violins and a fast flamenco guitar.
Also, a guy with a smokers voice singing, "Bee Boo Bop".

Haven't Got A Clue - The Flaming Lips
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FYhQge4Mnoo

- This song makes me think of Candyland in space.

I Heard it Through the Grapevine vs Feel Good Inc - DJ Hero Soundtrack (Marvin Gaye & Gorillaz)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SHSP3gptSJI

- I never thought these two songs would be able to fit together. Marvin's heart break meets
the upbeats and derranged laughter of Gorillaz.

11th Dimention - Julian Casablancas
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f_h5DMHh5_M

- Keyboard! Keyboard! Keyboard!

Money - Pink Floyd
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JkhX5W7JoWI

- Because saxophone solos should never go out of style.

Reckoner - Radiohead
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rOoCixFA8OI

- Radiohead + Percussion²

Hello There - Cheap Trick
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4D21mxgGRhY

- Hello there, are YOU ready to rock?
