#14 : Shape Of My Heart

Wasn't January a good month to listen and search around for some new artists? Well, I certainly think it was; and here is what I have to offer y'all! (Btw, my birthday is in TWO days YIPPEEEE!)

"Wagon Wheel"
Old Crow Medicine Show
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1gX1EP6mG-E
- The first and most likely, only country band that I have found and actually enjoyed. Their soft melodies accompanied with a cello and violin go hand in hand and make for an easy listen.

"You've Made Me So Very Happy"
Blood, Sweat and Tears
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cOnN18dTm0g
- Very jazzy. And extra snazzy! I'd say a mix between Frank Sinatra and Tom Jones (This goes out to all the ladies. ;D ).

"Breakfast Club"
Z-Trip feat. Murs and Supernatural
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gP4u4I96DVQ
- A story about every Saturday morning in 1999; told through 5 minutes of merry verses and beats.

"XR2"
M.I.A.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7eLqp3OHJH0
- A roller coaster of rhythms.

"One Better"
Les Claypool
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UqtAaYhhVYQ
- Two words : Bass God.

"Heart of Chambers"
Beach House
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DNQ97P0rQk8
- A lazy voice that reminds me of Feist and Cat Power. Very soft and delicate consisting of mostly keyboard and light drumming.

"Animal"
Miike Snow
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=niKT-kJfUz4
- If Anthony Caleb Followill had a child with the members of Pheonix; this would be it. (If you're looking for something more electro and with a heavier beat, check out the Punks Jump Up remix of this)

"Are You the One"
The Presets
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JT3eLB61zts
- Credit to Ka'nika for this one. Very dark sound with voices like the men of Shiney Toy Guns. Oh, and some excellent background dancing.

"There Is A Light That Never Goes Out"
The Smiths
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=INgXzChwipY
- I love these lyrics. "To die by your side, is such a heavenly way to die."

"Paradise By the Dashboard Light"
Meatloaf
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-tF4Im8Gexs
- I think this would make a good chastity musical.

"Paris Makes Me Feel Like Dancing"
Something A La Mode
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QUlJp7H-1Vo
- This song makes me feel like dancing. Very Justice-ie.

"Whistle"
Sporto Kantes
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X3lA-3Q_QUU
- Oh so very happy-go-lucky. Sort of reminds me of the Beatles.

"Harrowdown Hill"
Thom Yorke
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-UXk42ZY4o
- I really wouldn't know how to describe this song. Radiohead with a whooole lotta bass.

"Imitosis"
Andrew Bird
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hnXCzFnkxtY
- Tall, Dark and Mysterious.

"Sleepyhead"
Passion Pit
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4zherMkcXdo
- Can shouting be cute? I think so. (For those of you who watch television, this will be recognizable)

Enjoy!

#13 : Moi, Je Joue

Ewa's thoughts for the day:
Negative
1.) La Roux is having a concert that I CANNOT ATTEND (with tickets so cheap that even JESUS would not believe!) GAAAH! And Mark Knopfler is SOLD OUT! And Muse is insanely expensive!
2.) Getting exams marks back is just as horrendous as writing them.
Positive
1.) I have narrowed down my favorite perfumes to Miss Dior Cherie and Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue!
2.) I have over 600 new songs, courtesy of TINA! SMOOCHES! SHOWERS OF LOVE!
3.) I'm drawing Frank Sinatra for art! Forgive me, is there drool/jizz all over the page? Blow me down! There he is with Mia Farrow!
4.) With all the cheese in my fridge...as God as my witness, I will NEVER GO HUNGRY AGAIN!

In conclusion, today MUST have been a lovely day...there are more positive than negative thoughts!

So yes, my dear, I am happy. I shall sing.
